We associate the kissing act with love and romance, but how does it actually influences our health, our body and mind? Does exchanging saliva with others is really a good act? They say love conquers all, well, it may be more than you think.
Technically speaking, the mouth is a part of our body full of bacteria, while the saliva is the easiest way to swap communicable diseases.
However, in many cultures, mothers chew the food before they feed it to their babies and that is in order to provide them not only with food but also enzymes for digestion that the infants haven’t developed yet.
Another way that kissing affects you is that inside your brain are released endorphins immediately after/during the kiss and this makes you feel a lot better. Of course, if you get a kiss from someone you love than it’s not only about these chemicals, there’s also warmth, security and a lot of other emotions in stake. So, in the end, I would say that despite the fact that it is not too safe, it definitely worth the risk.
